Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group("MUFG") is deemed interested in the shares of YNH Property Berhad ("Company") held by the Morgan Stanley Group by virtue of:- MUFG's holding more than 20% interest in shares of Morgan Stanley Group. Pursuant to Section 6A(4)(c) of the Companies Act 1965("CA2016"), MUFG was deemed interested in the shares of the Company held by Aberdeen Asset Management PLC ("Aberdeen") (and its subsidiaries) as MUFG's wholly owned subsidiary, Mitsubishi UFJ Trust & Banking Corp, holds more than 15% in Aberdeen. As at 31/01/2017, Aberdeen and its subsidiaries hold 76,645,976 shares of the Company. By virtue of the coming into force of the CA2016 on 31/01/2017, pursuant to Section 8(4)(c) of the CA2016, MUFG is no longer deemed interested in the shares of the Company in which Aberdeen has an interest as Mitsubishi UFJ Trust & Banking Corp does not hold 20% or more in Aberdeen. As a result, MUFG ceases to be deemed a substantial shareholder of the Company. |
